Tarkwa, Ghana – The police have taken two individuals into custody in connection with an alleged robbery at the Future Global Resource Mines.
Derrick Kwabena and Daniel Ofori, suspected to be involved in the attack on the company’s gold room, are currently under arrest.
The robbery occurred at approximately 0220 hours, during which unidentified individuals targeted the company’s gold room. Upon receiving a distress call, the police swiftly responded to the incident.
Derrick Kwabena was apprehended at the scene, while Daniel Ofori was later captured in Bogoso while driving a Toyota Hilux Pickup with registration number GN 3020-17.
During their arrests, the police discovered gold concentrate concealed in a fertilizer sack and a foreign firearm containing five rounds of ammunition. Additionally, five BB cartridges, a cutlass, and a talisman were recovered from the vehicle.
Both suspects, Derrick and Daniel, along with the seized items, are currently being held at the Tarkwa Regional Police Headquarters as part of ongoing investigations. Authorities are actively pursuing other members of the gang who remain at large.
