Amidst the ongoing scrutiny over the Ejisu by-election in Ghana, an NPP Member of Parliament (MP) has come forward to clarify the purpose behind funds provided to Electoral Commission (EC) officials. The NPP MP asserts that the money handed over to EC personnel was specifically designated for their lunch expenses during the electoral process.

The Ejisu by-election, aimed at filling a vacant parliamentary seat, has been marred by allegations of impropriety and undue influence. However, the NPP MP maintains that their actions were purely aimed at facilitating the logistical needs of EC officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the election.

In response to the clarification provided by the NPP MP, the Electoral Commission Ghana has corroborated the assertion, confirming that the funds were indeed intended for lunch expenses for their personnel deployed for election duties.
